Dyform and Compact Strand

I'm a newbie here and getting my ducks in a row and learning as I go and restore my vessel which is a work in progress. Can someone explan the difference between Dyform wire and compact strand. I've heard many explanations:
1)They are the same
2)One is a brand name, the other is a description of the wire
3)They are totally different and not alike at all!

Which one is it? I know there was a company called Bridon selling Dyform wire. Was this their product name for compact strand? Thanks for the help!

Re: Dyform and Compact Strand

Thanks for the reply! So the Dyform was simply the product name coined by Bridon and the term compact strand is the type.
