Replacing Outhaul and Topping Lift

Due to ALL THINGS LIFE, I am getting less and less time and money to work on the boat these days. I would like to take on a couple of small, cheap projects this weekend- replacing the outhaul and topping lift lines.
What type of line is preferred? I have been looking at the performance braid. Does color matter, as long as it is a different color than the halyards and sheets?

Re: Replacing Outhaul and Topping Lift

The outhaul wants to be a low stretch line, topping lift I guess doesn't really matter. Aside from that, do whatever you want.
Is your outhaul inside your boom? If so, that rather complicates things.

Re: Replacing Outhaul and Topping Lift

I'm working on replacing my outhaul with Amsteel. stronger than wire and isn't stretchy! Interesting to splice too!
