The typing looks near perfect. Its the meaning that escapes me?

I read post 30 which is a good heads-up regarding the CO produced by generators that may be drawn into the cabin via AC operation. Sorry that I didn't understand what you meant, but that's just my dense head. I have no generator, so I can only use the AC when dockside. I did try all of the "redneck" solutions before I did my own install.... and saved about $3000 bucks. I actually don't like the current connotation of the term "redneck" as being dumb or ill mannered dolts. To me, the rednecks were the workers in this country that helped build this great United States of America.

Re: Window AC Unit

When my Cruise-n-Carry unit dies (came with boat) I will install a conventional marine unit, but meanwhile....

The past week we have been on the hard doing a transom extension (2 feet) in the mid-summer heat. Guess what; air-cooled units work on the hard, marine units don't. So for this week at least, I'm feeling the love.

(when asked how he reached the starting holds on a difficult rock climbing problem that clearly favored taller climbers - he was perhaps 5'5")

"Well, I just climb up to them."

Re: Window AC Unit

You bring up a good point Seduction, using the word "redneck" could be offensive to some, I mean no harm by it. I have a high % of redneck in me, after all I drive a Ford truck, have a John Deere, and like beer...oh and I'm 25% American Indian and proud of it.

Re: Window AC Unit

Also...perhaps I didn't word my post well...I was implying the use of a portable generator to run an AC unit could be dangerous due to CO poisoning if the fumes were to enter the cabin for some reason, say if the generator was placed in the cockpit. Likely, I don't know, possible...yes. Just a word of caution was all I wanted to imply.

Zeehag, if you were trying to say my post didn't makes sense...well I didn't get yours either?

Anyway, moving on...spill in isle 12

Cheers,
Shawn
