Wind Speed Indiator

On my Oday 31 wind speed gage I have been experiencing a loss of the wind speed. Every so often it just reads o then after quite a while it starts reading again. The wind wheel is turning on top of the mast and the wind direction indicator works fine.

I was wondering if anyone has had a similar problem. I'm looking for clues.

Re: Wind Speed Indiator

Hey,

Who makes the instrument and do you have any model numbers or any way identify it?

Re: Wind Speed Indiator

Same thing happened with my old datamarine unit. DMI marine repaired it at a reasonable cost. If that happens to be the unit you have, see FAQ #4 at this link:
DMI Marine, Inc. - FAQ/Troubleshooting Tips

Then call them for a quote. Good people.

I'm not at the boat at this time but I believe it is Signet. Don't know the model number unless I go to the boat later.

Re: Wind Speed Indiator

That's either a electric connection on the road to going bad.

EXACT same problem right now with my Davis. Sometimes it's accurate, sometimes it reads really low, and often it reads "0" even when the thingy up there is spinning. Jiggled the connections, rebooted it by pulling the power, problem is still there.

Standing by to sponge useful advice off this thread.
