Shaft tube repair

I just heard from my marina, apparently my shaft tube is leaking into the bilge and needs to be re-glassed. They want to pull the boat and let it dry for a few days before doing the fiberglass work. The boat is a 1978 C&C 36, will this fix require removing the prop shaft?

If a dirty bottom slows you down what do you think it does to your boat
