Yes, the yard crew that stepped my mast got a little creative on me. My bad for not being a more active supervisor in the process. That's #1 on my list toward resolving this issue.

Found this on a brand new boat at the boat show last weekend.
The builders offer this option for customers that don't want a bowsprit.
the pad eye have two turnbuckles that transfer the load to the bow fitting.

Wow - I love the custom mini-sprit! With a trip to a welder and some woodworking I coudl definitely do something like that in the future. For now I think I need to keep it a bit simpler, but I think that's going into my future projects list! Love the idea of carving the boat's name into that plate as well. Very classy.
