Re: Cutting an aluminum boom

I work in the skylight industry. We work with extruded aluminum all day long. A 40 tooth carbide Home Depot blade will work just fine for a couple of cuts. Clamp the boom so its square and tight. Hold tight and take your time. Start the saw and apply wax to the spinning blade. Then lower it thru the material. Do not chop as the name implies. Carefully debur with a file. Be sure to wear goggles.
