there are suppliers of pre anodized tubing. also might consider fiberglass tubing like Centek vernatube exhaust tube.

Oh, I like that fiberglass idea...
Checking into availability...
What sort of strength can I expect vs aluminum?
I'm just thinking of stepping on the cabin top and putting stress on it.

the tubing is quite strong. in compression as strong as the aluminum.
I doubt that the cabin top is relying on those tubes for strength. the cabin top is the same as used in the fixed keel model which does not have the tubes
