hey everyone, I'm getting ready to winterize my dolphin23 and I noticed that my rudder needs a good paint job, the PO used bottom coat paint, is this the right paint for a rudder or should I get something smoother???
FRED
If it is not a lifting rudder, you will need to paint in like the bottom. If you can lift it out of the water, it does not need to be painted, or can be topside paint.
Do you trailer her? If so, Easypoxy or something like it will work fine. If she's wet all the time, you should have a good barrier coat then cover with antifouling. I used Hydrocoat on mine. Works well for trailering but not sure how critters do on it.
