Unversal M12 Prop Mirage 275

I have a Mirage 275 with a Universal M12. I can achieve max RPM of 3600 which gives me only 4.5 knots. I thinking the prop is not pitched correctly. No smoke @ 3600. I have read that the recommended prop is 13x8 or 12x9. I have not pulled my prop yet to confirm the size.

Any recommendation/experience for proper prop size?

Re: Unversal M12 Prop Mirage 275

It does sound like you're 'under propped', however the lack of speed could be from other causes - growth/other drag source, fouled prop.. there are prop sizing sites on line...

Try running some numbers:

Thank you for the response, the bottom is clean, no additional drag that I can find, previous owner had the same issue.
