Re: Uses for totally shot sail?

There are a number of shops that make bags out of old sails. They will generally give you a bag (usually sell for around $100 or so, depending on size) in return for your old sail. If you can sew you can make your own bags. I've turned a few old sails into many bag which I use for presents that are usually very appreciated.

Like Genieskip said. Here are a few shops if you want to call. I don't know of any upstate.

Second Wind Sails
Marblehead Sail Bags
Ella Vickers

Could also try contacting your local high school drama department or theater troupe to see if they want it for set design.

GREETINGS EARTHLINGS; Do you have lee-clothes, wind scoops, dodgers, tents for the beach, ground cloths when painting, hammack, sail bags, grab bags, dinghy bag, outboard-carry bag, tool roll, spinnicar sock, sail covers, one only needs a bit of imajination and a sewing machine and the enemy of all yachts-folk "TIME" . Re: Uses for totally shot sail?

I once used an old sunfish sail to make sails for an RC sailboat I built. Worked much better than the heavy canvas cloth that came with it

What do you mean that time is the enemy of all yacht-folk? Do you mean there's too much time or not enough?

Regards,
Brad

Re: Uses for totally shot sail?

If your boat bounces around at anchor a lot, how about cutting it down to a riding sail.
