Leaking hull deck joint
I want to run this idea by you folks to see what you have to say. I have a Catalina 38 she is a 1979 in fair condition but coming up on her 25th birthday. Like all of us we are getting older and some things need repairs that are a pain in the backside one of these things is the cap rails. The Catalina 38 has the aluminum sloted rail with the screws about four inches apart. Now I am sure that some sailors need all that track on both sides but well never mind but more than I need. Anyway the rail leaks all over mostly in the V birth and gets things soaked. I was thinking about sealing the rail with Sani Tred to keep the water out www.sanitred.com I cant see removing the rail thats removingaprox, 152 screws four cabinets the head the galley I think you catch my drift.
