I''m thinking about changing the autopilot on our boat(4000).We''re planing on leaving for the carib.(we''re in nj now)Don''t think the 4000 can handle the trip. How about a 6000?

What boat? What displacement? Maybe it can but who could tell.

The other way to look at it is a second 4000 as a spare may be the better choice so long as it is not under powered. For whell base auto pilots a second spare would be a good idea.

B&G Autopilot with self-contained(motor/pump/resevoir/cylinder) hydraulic ram. 43foot sailboat. Permenent magnet 12volt DC motor. Magnets are loose in motor shell. Smith''s Industries is manufacturer. Presumably out-of-business. I need a repair center or a replacement motor. Anyone, any ideas?
