Asymmetric Sails

Catalina 310- I am considering an asymmetric sail. Any recommendations for Lake Michigan conditions with a Catalina 310.

I am assuming you are talking about a crusing spinaker ?

Get a good sock with it and its gonna be a blast

An asymmetrical or cruising spinnaker is essentially a light-air sail, so think about the generally prevailing winds you experience as part of your consideration regarding purchasing such a sail.

I have a 350 and sail the Chesapeake Bay out of Annapolis. I have a 3/4-ounce Quantum V3 asymmetrical spinnaker and there is ample opportunity for flying it, especially during the summer.

I have an older Lee spinaker and I used it both on the pole and hanked on as a cruiser it worked well in both cases. I could get almost two more knots up to about 10Kts of wind after that you need to get it down if your short handed. My sail has a very good sock.
