hinge oem - anchor locker

I''m re-bedding all deck hardware this winter, including the anchor locker hinges on my 1982 O''day 25. The old hinges are bronze with chrome plating. They are stressed and should be replaced. I have searched every conceivable boat hardware manufacturer, but can not come up with replacements with exact dimensions / hole positions, etc. Does anyone know who the oem was that O''day used for supplying these hinges?

In the early 1980''s, I think that Oday used a lot of ''Tops-in-quality'' hardware.''Tops-in-quality'' is a Canadian company. You might try them. They also used Merriman which was in its death throws at that point. You should be able to find a set of hinges of the same physical dimension and then either fill the bolt holes in the boat with thickened epoxy and drill new holes or if the bolt locations are extremely different, (i.e. no overlap between the old and the new hole) then drill new holes in the hinge.

First, check D&R in Assonet, MA. They have lots of old parts for Pearsons and O''Days among others, including hinges and such. Their phone number is 508-644-3001.

Tops in Quality is probably a long shot for hinges, but if D&R can''t help, give them a try. They are in Marysville, Michigan Phone is 810-364-7150, or www.topsinquality.com.
