Split water tank

Repair or replace I usually like to put in new things when the old things go south, but mb budget for this year is fubar after a untimely lighting incounter hey that part is all new now. But I was wondering if anyone has had any luck with a tang that split on top on a seam about two inches because the tank got preasurized, long story another time.
Anyway can we do this with a cleaning and silicone or what that white plastic stuff looks like the same stuff they make the plastic dolphins that pop out of the machine for two bucks at the Sea aquarium.
