Thanks for the responses. I did find a solution. It may save others some $$$s. I checked the top of the
furling mechanism, as suggested. Everything was normal. While above, I "dry lubed" the
furling head. Both fixes were to no avail. I went back to West Marine to purchase a thinner
furling line, although the one I was replacing was fairly new and in great shape. It was suggested there that I remove four or five feet of inner core of the
furling line to make it thinner. This made sense as just the last two feet would not furl. Bingo! Apparently the hurricane deluge had some affect on swelling the existing
line that always completely filled the drum. Removing the last 5'' of inner core gave the addtional space required. Thanks to all.
