Absolutely not!!!!! The dye thats in the nylon filaments is added before the fiber is formed. There is NO way to dye nylon after its formed/made.
If you attempt to dye nylon yourself all you''ll do is a temporary coating to the nylon filaments; and, these will wash off, wear off ..... the result will look worse than SH*T.
The only way to add dye to nylon is by a process called ''thermo-soling''; but, you need high temperature steam filled precision rollers and very special dyes ... something that a ''consumer'' cant do.
Sorry, but dont even THINK about throwing a
spinnaker in a wash tub filled with "RIT" or other dyes that you buy at K-mart, etc. Consumer ''dyes'' are only for ''natural'' fibers: wool, cotton, flax, etc. ... NOT for synthetics.
