Beta marine Diesels engines

I am getting ready to replace my Yanmar SVE12, I need more power. Any info or experience with the Beta Marine diesels? What about the newer Yanmars? I want 20-30 HP.

Are you thinking of Cruising in the future?? You may want to think about a BUKH Diesel engine. 90% of the lifeboats in the world have them. They are a 100% salt water cooled,"SOLAS" Marine engine, available with Saildrive, BUKH Engines come in 7hp to 48hp. Hi I''am Don Williams with Alexander/Ryan In Houston, Texas. If you would like more info, on BUKH Engines E-Mail me or Call 1-800-923-1672 I look forward to talking with you.

I read a post about Beta engines and paying to much for what you get. The post said it is the same as the Universal but it has a built in hand oil pump "big deal" and they were allot more money. Yanmar has a new motor out I do not remember the numbers on it but it has smoother operation and a high output altrenator ans 80 I think anyway you might look into the whole thing some Westerbeak motors are Isizu and Kubota is the same as ??? if you catch my drift, steel a horse and change its brand but it still runs the same and sometimes looks the same.
