Humminbird HDR 600 Depth Sounder

Does anyone have any experience with these? I have only found one user review that complains that his died after 3 years use. I like the fact that it is a circular dial and will fit nicely where my old knotmeter used to reside with very little installation work, and I think the price is pretty good, but if I am going to have to replace it, then maybe I should go more expensive at the outset.

We have a Hummingbird "fishfinder/depthsounder" on a 25'' sloop.
Works great and they are inexpensive.

I can''t speak to the 3 year durability but I have the exact model you''re interested in installed in my Helms 25. I sail on a tidal river so it''s a real help. I''m very pleased with it, it seems to work well and is easily visible from the helm day and night. VITmarine.com has them for 75 bucks.
