Life Raft Inspection/Certification
You will find lots of options, altho'' not every place that claims to test & repair rafts is going to have workers actually doing the work that you will feel comfortable about when pulling the cord. As one example, I just had my 406 Epird battery replaced at a raft repair center...and I wasn''t left with warm feelings about what I saw.
My advice: Narrow your choices to inspection & repair centers that are FAA certified (e.g. to work on commercial and biz jet rafts). They must meet firm, extensive requirements and their work, as a general rule, will probably significantly exceed the average raft repair shop. If unsure where to find those centers, you can contact the FBO (Fixed Base Operator) at your nearby airport (located on the General Aviation side of the field) since any commercial aircraft operated by an FBO will need to be routinely inspected and so they probably already have a vendor of preference.
