2005 Hunter 27 cooler?

I have had a look at the new 27 ft hunter an was surprised to see the cooler was a thermo electric unit. Any one out there have a hunter with this on board I would like to ask about how well it works in 80 to 90 degree heat. I thought they could only draw the inside temp down 40 degrees? I don''t know if I would want to eat food stored at that temp after a long sail to a pristine gunkhole?Have they made them better or what?
