control for Windlass

I''m installing a Windlass on a Com-Pac 27 sailboat and have an up/down switch, solenoid and wired remote. The wired remote is plugged into an outlet that I can install anywhere on the boat. Thats the problem. Where is the best place to install the controls. Most of the time it will be me steering and the wife doing the anchor. Should I have the remote near me at the helm or at the bow to be operated there. Anyones experience with this would be appreciated.

control for Windlass

In most cases, the up/down switch (foot activated, deck mounted) is installed at the bow, while the remote switch is at the helm.

This provides dual access control from both locations . . . at least that''s the way my boat is set-up, and everyone elses I''ve been on for that matter.
