deck delamination repair

I am in the process of buying a North Sea Pilot house sloop. There is an area of deck delamination on the fore deck (probably caused by the installation of an anchor winch). I am not too concerned about my ability to fix this problem BUT in searching the web I came accross this site:
http://www.star-distributing.com/howtoguides/corerestoration.html
They are extolling the virtues of using "clear penetrating expoxy sealer". I would appreciate hearing from folks who have experience using this method .
