Can anyone identify this

This is a picture of the centerboard on a Brewer 12.8. The u-bolt on the left is where the cable attaches to the keel to raise/lower. Can anyone tell me what the heck the screw to the right could be for. It will take some major cutting to get to it and get a look from the top.

Yahoo says your pic is no longer available. If all else fails, why not email Ted Brewer at www.tedbrewer.com and find out from the source? Just a thought.

I e-mailed the pic to Ted and he indicated that each builer had their own construction methods and he could not tell what it is.
