Raymarine Wireless ST101 Wind instruments

Looking for feedback on the above products. Our 14-month old transducer stopped working. Needing wind instruments quickly for a 1,200 mile passage, we bought the above product. Installed it on our 70 ft mast, and it stopped working on day 2.

Raymarine says it is defective, and need to be shipped back to the dealer; and maybe the height of our mast is an issue... there is no range maximum mentioned anywhere in their manuals/specs.

Thanks in advance for any useful inputs.

Re: Raymarine Wireless ST101 Wind instruments

May I suggest that you call Raymarine again? I've found that I sometimes don't get the same answer to a question when I've called their tech support area on an issue more than once.

Now perhaps I'm just a bit old fashioned, but a hard wire, particularly if you're venturing off shore, would make me a lot more comfortable.

When I purchased my first tacktick package from defender the sales person asked me what my mast height was. I don't recall the max. but i was ok.
