Setting up electronic navigation program

Hi

I recently purchased Nobeltech''s Visual Navigation software and am trying to get it to work on my boat. Unfortunately, the software/computer won''t recognize my B&G Network GPS or my B&G autopilot. In fact, the laptop freezes up when I try. I''m using an IBM G41 laptop and a Belkin UB/Serial adapter. Any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated.

I would also appreciate a recommendation of someone in the Annapolis area who is expert with this stuff and could make a housecall to troubleshoot the problem and educate me a little in the process.

Thanks, Bruce

Bruce: Congratulations, the VNS is a terrific piece of software, we have used it for about six months and it worked flawlessly. If you have not already done so, you must first run the gps wizard (this verifies the connection and that the gps is sending the correct nmea sentences, etc. (Start/program files/nobeltec/gps setup wizard). Try this first. While VNS recognizes most popular gps models, it might not recognize the B&G. You have to get the gps working first before you can configure the autopilot. Gary
