70 is still not bad. how would i know the difference? 150# of thrust would work well for me, according to minnkota's chart. he is contact by phone only. i will have to call him tomorrow. i doubt he'd appreciate a call at 2:35am.

apparently not. i saw the pic of the motor. it's clearly labeled 3HP. did they once list HP?

Re: trolling motors

They could have - but from my searching it isn't true. Post the pic or a link.

Re: trolling motors

Wonder how old it is? They don't post hp any more, probably because it isn't true. Their largest 12 volt one id 55 lbs thrust currently.

Re: trolling motors

Here is a link to Minn Kota's most powerful current outboard. It is listed as 2 hp. Designed to move a pontoon boat or other heavier boat as the primary engine.

E-Drive | Electric Outboard | Trolling Motors | Products | Minn Kota Motors

It is also 48 volts. It sells for about $3200 without batteries.

that being the case, this 3HP is, at least, worth checking out.

Re: trolling motors

Probably made before honesty in advertising. 12 volts can't do it in a motor that size.
