A challange for marine electricians

In a recent survey of my sailboat the surveyor reported an "open ground in 120vAC electrical system when system is switched to inverter".
Few days ago I found my house batteries dead, although the battery switch was off, ther inverter was off and the boat was on shore AC power.

Any suggestion onm what might have happened?? and how to determine the cause and possibly the solution??

Thank you,

Bill

The Inverter Ground (usually the cabinet) MUST be connected to your boat’s AC Ground Bus (same as shore power Green Gnd).
The Open Ground on Inverter is NOT likely related to your Dead Battery.
