Cool Redwood Toe Rail?

I,m looking at replacing the toe rail & rub rail on my 38 Irwin Classic. And finding a source for 1 1/2 "X1 1/2" teak, about 180 linear ft. without busting my rework budget for the next 10 yrs. seem nigh on impossible.
I milled redwood deck lumber for ribs & stringers on my fishing boat about 20 yrs. ago, they weren't encaplulated and they still apear pretty good.
10' 2X6 redwood lumber runs about $15 each, I could rip them in 1/3 s and get 180 linear ft. for around $100. Who says brightwork has to be teak anyway? What say anyone? Thanks in advance, Art.

From a traditionlist

If I were looking to buy a boat and it had a redwood toe rail, I would figure the cost of replacement into my offer, Redwood may be a good alternative, but I gotta have teak.

I would not mind an aluminum toe rail. they are nautical and practical. Have you considered this option?

Actually aluminum is better, in my book, than teak.
