Getting Toe Rail Black Again
I have a black anodized toe rail that is faded and chalky. Anyone had any luck making these look good again?

The problem is that anything you can do to the toerail, will wear. If you paint it, paint wears (especially if you have cars on it). If you use a deck treatment (StarBrite or whatever) it may look darker and shinier--but will need repeated applications to keep it that way.

You may be able to find a reblacking kit from a gunsmithing supply (Brownell's) that will chemically re-etch it, but that's going to be a slow and expensive process.

I'd put a pin-up on the mast to distract the eyes, and just go sailing.<G>

Or just color it in with a Sharpie marker... ;)

I like your ides of the pin-up.
What do you think of getting one of the models from the boat show to lounge on the deck?
A freind used WD40 and that worked until it rained, then he had black streaks down his hull.
I do not think paint would stay on.
I need something that will soak in.

If you can remove the toe rail (unlikely) then you can have it re-anodized if it is aluminum.
