Does anyone have experience with Samson XLS and XLS Extra?

I need to replace my jib sheets on my 46' Heritage and I have an opportunity to by some discontinued but new XLS Extra in 5/8". My concern is the XLS Extra may not be as comfortable on the hands as just the XLS and I don't know how it will wear over time.

Thanks for any info.
