Primer Coat

Just finished rolling out a primer coat this morning. Although I have uniform coverage I can still see areas that we faired/filled thru the primer coat

Do I need topcoat this so all faired/filled areas do not show thru the primer or can I go straight to the finish coat?

Thanks,
Bob

Re: Primer Coat

If you can see it in the primer then you'll see it more in the paint...

Topside & hull. There's nothing bottom paint won't cover
Looks like I'm going for another coat of primer based upon Socal 25's comments because that was my concern.

Thanks
Bob

Re: Primer Coat

Except adding more primer won't fix it. Sand back, fix the imperfections in the filler, then reprime.
Tempest and oysterman23 like this.

Mark, The issue isn't imperfections with the filler, it was trying to get away with a single coat of primer. After a good nights sleep, it isn't going to happen. I've put too much work into this to attempt a "shortcut" which will become the longest distance between two points...
