Head's raw water intake not working.

I'm not getting raw water supply to my Jabsco head. I'm guessing the intake is plugged. I dove the boat and stuck a coat hanger into the through hull, no luck.

Maybe blow it out (technically...in) with compressed air or water?
Ideas?

Could anything else be causing this? I didn't think so, as it seems to be naturally pressure fed. Normally, open the valves and the bowl starts filling. Close the valve and it stops. Fail to close the valves and sink the boat!
(And I'm ready for the jokes!:))

Check to see if you have a one way (ball with spring) check valve installed in your intake line, commonly used, the ball may be sticking.

I have a similar but different problem on my Jabsco head...

I "loose" the prime on the RW intake and have to pull the line to bowl off, put my finger over the pump hole and pull release, pull release to get water up to pump...then it will work fine for awhile...till it looses prime again...

Sounds like this "check valve" is leaking back, but not so sure I have one in line from the RW intake thru hull..

1. Close seacock
2. Disconnect hose from seacock
3. Open seacock slowly
Water?
Rushing in or small drip?

If water intake is OK check hose between seacock and toilet pump.

If your toilet normally fills with water when seacock is open you should install a anti siphon valve..

When did you service the pump :)?

I would replace what they call a joker valve inside the pump...

it will lose "suction" if the diaphragm part doesnt have a good enough seal

also like above visually check to see flow of water from the thru hull

peace

The joker valve is on the outlet side of the pump, it prevents the dirty water from running back into the bowl :)

its the language thing...on another thread somoen reffered to this as the actual pump diaphragm

my bad then

on the jabsco pumps you want to replace the diagphragm, and spring or else the pump wont action correctly

does that make sense?

sorry for the confusion
