Forestay Attachment

I have just bought a Ranger 22, which has a fractional rig with internal halyards and apparently should have an internal forestay attachment to the compression tube on the bolt that holds the upper shrouds. The previous owner ran the forestay to the side of the mast at this location. !. Apparently the original boat had a toggle to attach to this location on the inside of the mast. Has anyone ever seen one of these toggles or rebuilt a Ranger 22 forestay? My rigging shop does'nt have a clue and they want me to install a mast dog. I'd like to do it right but this seems to be a very arcane business.

Any help would be greatly appreciated so I can get this mast of the sawhorses and back on the boat.

I would try contacting someone at the Ranger Sailboat Owners Association.

You know what the first rule of sailing is? ...Love. You can learn all the math in the 'verse, but you take
a boat to the sea you don't love, she'll shake you off just as sure as the turning of the worlds. Love keeps
her going when she oughta fall down, tells you she's hurting 'fore she keens. Makes her a home.
