Re: Volvo Engine mounts

Friends on our dock have had good luck with Volvo Penta, Mercruiser and more - Marine Parts Express - engines, outdrives, propellers.
Don't the mounts to be cheap.

Re: Volvo Engine mounts

Thanks just called them not much more that a generic mount that I would need to mod to get in there. Do you still have the Volvo motor, I think we talked briefly in sept when I picked up the Boat.

Thanks AL

Re: Volvo Engine mounts

I too have had good luck with Marine Parts Express. I often use their online schematics to find part numbers, as well as to see how internals are assembled. Engine mounts, however, can have several that go with a specific model, so you often have to get a part number off what you already have.

I've used both Marine Parts Express and Power Product Systems. Prices are similar. Sometimes one has an advantage. I've only spoken the MPE on the phone and they were extremely helpful.

Wow, this source of schematics is like Gold. It is timely for me based on the work I'm currently doing. Thanks for the reference.

Re: Volvo Engine mounts

I bought the four mounts and some other incidentals, pricey but the mounts were direct fit and to mod something else would be a pain. The front ones were inverted and would be really hard to retrofit. Its a 25 year old machine and I don't mind paying for the right parts. If they are going to maintain that service and as long as the parts are fresh, I don't want 25 year old parts, I cant complain about the price.
Good phone service from MPE too.
You can get your numbers from the published directory and look around, there is a local guy I know but he is slow because he doesn't do much but can quote with a part number. I expect they are all real close in pricing MPE even gave me a bit of a price break but I was over $500 at that point.

Thanks again I had already looked at them but not purchased until now.

BTW when I was looking for fuel lines they were pretty crazy so I just cut the old hose from the banjo fittings and renewed the hose. Go to a pro hydraulic shop and they have lots of press on systems. $30 saved $400. I will have my starter and alternator reconditioned locally.
