reverse polarity

I''m new my boat and shore power. When I changed slips and plugged in the "reverse polarity" light came on. Can''t say that I know the implications of running my battery charger and would like to get some perspective. This hasn''t happened before (also, my cabin 120v outlets on on the same circuit as the charger so I''m wondering if I can use them?).

It would be in your best interest to get with your harbormaster and have them get an electrician to that slip to fix the problem or move you back to your previous slip. What you have is a potentially dangerous situation. Your ground could be compromised and that means your entire AC volts system is compromised. Not sure I would want to use anything on the boat until the situation is corrected.
