canvas colors

i just bought a 1986 caliber 28
it has a brown strip on the hull and brown canvas and brown border on the genoa my wife would like to change colors.

is it seaman-like not to match canvas to the boat hull

do i need to change the sail border color as well, who would do that.

if i don t match hull and canvas what colors are appropriate??
