Keel/Centerboard

The new Tartan 3400 offers a keel/centerboard option, along with a Fin (too deep) and a beaver tail (most common) - what would be the preference and why?

I would think it would depend on whether performance is worth the extra maintenance to you.

Also depends on where you want to sail the boat. In the Florida Keys and the ICW, the keel/CB option may prove very useful. In other places, the fin keel may provide the best sailing performance.
