Whaler glass repair....

Bad idea, I know, but there''s a couple old Boston Whalers around here with some exterior hull skin missing and the foam hanging out. They''d make great tenders. I''ve contacted Whaler and they tell me to hire a Boston Whaler dealer to do the repairs. I know the foam is bonded to the hull and provides support in lieu of stringers. I''m just wondering if I grind, glue new foam (rather than spray urethane foam) and put some form of support between the inner and outer hull and glass with 1.5oz mat/heavy biax/1.5oz mat, seal up tight and finish off if it''d be a reasonable repair. Who do glass? Who done deze?
