Treadmaster Removal

Treadmaster Removal

After trying all sorts of methods of removing Treadmaster I have settled on using a belt sander
with 36 grit paper. A couple of days I should have it removed off my Vancouver 27. I was looking forward to tackling this December. The process will take off some gelcoat. I will be, I think replacing with Treadmaster as rolls of it came with the boat. I will be using an epoxy that should have 60+ degrees to set. I will not see this temp until spring. With some gelcoat remove is there a chance of moisture getting into the deck over the winter? Itís one of those dirty jobs you want to get done.
The boat does have a cover but Vancouver can be pretty moist in the winter.

Re: Treadmaster Removal

I wouldn't get too worried, if there won't be standing or running water on it over the winter. I would fair the surface with epoxy or gelcoat, before gluing or applying the new non-skid.

In the harsh marine environment, something is always in need of repair. Margaritas fix everything.
