Spinnaker Logo's

Hi

I've recently seen a boat with a real nice logo on the spinnaker. Does anyone know of a website or company that can do this. Looking at a new chute and would like some funny or interesting artwork on it.

thanks
Terry Scott

Most sailmakers can put artwork on a spinnaker. They can either sew it in or sometimes they use markers to draw it on or a combo of both.

Lecy's correct, the sailmakers do this. I once had a spinnaker made for a boat called Ragtime, with piano keys in the center panels, they did that sewn in. It was quite effective.
More recently we wanted a more involved logo on a spinnaker for a 24 ft race boat. This would have required a painted on logo, multi coloured and would have looked great. Unfortunately it would have added at least $800 to the price of the sail (for all the labour) and in the end we didn't do it.
Stick-on stuff like vinyl likely wouldn't withstand the flogging and besides would be too heavy.
So you can have the coolest kite on the block but it will cost you!
