You need to take the NMEA 0183 outputs from the Magellan 315, if it has them, and wire them to the NMEA 0183 inputs on the ST4000. If the St4000 has NMEA outputs, you should wire them to the NMEA inputs on the Magellan as well. Unfortunately, there is no real wiring standard for NMEA 0183 connections, which is often treated as an RS-232 serial connection, but is actually an RS-422 serial connection IIRC. YMMV.
