315 to ST4000 interface

How do I connect a Magellan 315 to Autohelm ST4000? What cabling? Special connectors? etc.?

Would like any thoughts and information. Thanks.

You need to take the NMEA 0183 outputs from the Magellan 315, if it has them, and wire them to the NMEA 0183 inputs on the ST4000. If the St4000 has NMEA outputs, you should wire them to the NMEA inputs on the Magellan as well. Unfortunately, there is no real wiring standard for NMEA 0183 connections, which is often treated as an RS-232 serial connection, but is actually an RS-422 serial connection IIRC. YMMV.

You know what the first rule of sailing is? ...Love. You can learn all the math in the 'verse, but you take
a boat to the sea you don't love, she'll shake you off just as sure as the turning of the worlds. Love keeps
her going when she oughta fall down, tells you she's hurting 'fore she keens. Makes her a home.
