Question Water Miser Battery Caps

I've been told placing these Water Miser Battery Caps significantly reduce water evaporation as well as offering several other benefits to battery maintenance and life. Does anyone have personal experience with this product or comparable ones and are they worth the $$$?Many thanks.

Watermisers are a coallescing cap, they collect the microdroplets of electrolyte which attach to the hydrogen and oxygen bubbles produced during recharge. They do not recombine the gasses as do Hydrocaps but they are lots cheaper. Often there is not room for Hydrocaps however so the Watermisers are better than straight vented caps. Lead antimony grid batteries self discharge at a rate of about 1% per day. If the battery tops are gunky they self discharge more rapidly. Both Watermisers and Hydrocaps help keep the battery tops clean which in turn retards the rate of self discharge.I would go with Hydrocaps however they are very difficult to find at the present time due to hurricane damage at the plant.
