Of course, you could buy the back issue for less than a single article IIRC. However, not all the issues are still available.
BTW, it will depend on how you're planning on using the asym... are you going to use a sock/snuffer or use a wire-luff furling unit. You really need to talk to a good sail loft to get the info on what your choices are. Generally, the wire-luff furling sails are a bit smaller than ones you can set using a sock/snuffer.
The flatter cut sails can be generally used upwind a bit, but are not as good downwind.

my boat sails the chesapeake, and as anyone who plays on the bay knows..light air is abundant..(for some reason the wind always dies on me near wolftrap light..then come the black flies, but i digress)..looking for a predominantly beam to broad reach sail..for those times when the wind can't keep the jib filled.
obviously the big names are easy to find (quantum, north etc)..however some smaller lofts are enticing..(i like helping the little guys, being a small business owner myself)..so..any experience w/ lesser known lofts, or will i be better of with bigger lofts.

damn..guess it means i have to use the old fashioned telephone thing..
on your asymm..how is it cut..did you get an atn with it..and i've noticed depending on which loft you choose, a 42/38 luff :leech suitable for my boat ranges between $1000-1700..some with a sock included..others not..as i no longer race J/24s..i'm less concerned with performance and more interested in durability and quality..(translation..don't want to have to replace this anytime soon)

kinda sounds like a law firm when i say it out loud...
ok, have my choices for an asymm narrowed down..spouse designed the sail, and not even gonna try to disuade her on this point, (she has after all, not said boo when i spent about 5 grand on new electronics and "stuff").she didn't like the design of some other "more affordable" chutes..so here i am. ok back story complete.
any of you sailnetters have experience/thoughts/experience/opinions (as if anyone here has an opinion )
okay everyone..help me make up my mind...(oh, and we are talking all in the same relative price range..almost seems like collusion... all the prices are amazingly similar..things that make ya go hmmm.
