Brooklyn diesel mechanic

I am looking to buy a 1988 Oday 322 with a Yanmar 2GM20F 18 HP engine that is hard to start, smokes, and gets only 3000 RPM instead of rated 3400.
Does anyone know a diesel mechanic I can use who operates near Kennedy Airport area in Brooklyn?

Miken...

Careful.

That one sounds linke expensive trouble.

Lecy 09-29-2006 01:27 PM

Sounds like it might have a compression problem from damaged piston rings. Rockter is right that it might be 'expensive trouble'.

Agreed, sounds like low compression - I smell a rebuild in the offing.....
