alternator noise filter no longer useful?

I have a modern Balmar alternator with an external regulator. Ive been cleaning up the wiring and would like to remove the external alternator noise filter that was installed for the old Loran. I understand the new GPs and radars do not need these old devices. It would clean up the engine area. Is this necessary any longer?

Thank you

Do you ever plan on installing an SSB? If so, definitely leave it. They are useful items, without a positive reason for removing it I would tend to leave it in.
