I need to replace the prop on a 2001 Dufour 33 GibSea 19 HP Volvo
I would like to have a prop for my diver to replace when he pulls off old prop.
I am assuming the surveys for the boat are correct in stating a 14x11 prop. It is LHT. The shaft is 25mm. (does anyone have this setup to confirm this prop?) (the Volvo site shows the part as 873383 but the part is obsolete!
My searching so far has yet to find the prop in stock anywhere. Any ideas on a good prop source?
Do I need any more information other than the specs mentioned above?
I would suggest that if you are buying a used prop that you take it to a prop shop first to make sure it's OK and a suitable replacement for the one you have. You can buy a prop several degrees (4 I believe) different from the one you need and have it repitched, if the metal is OK.
I believe the Europeans also use a different taper, so the prop shop will be able to determine if there is enough 'meat' in the hub to do this safely.
Any prop manufacturer has a suggested prop size chart on their web site if you want to check yours out against those, but it might not do anything more than confuse you. I've not had much luck with those recommendations.
Good luck.

Look on Ebay, craigslist, or your Gibb Sea association website, for a non fixed prop.
You may get lucky.
Don't accept a 1" shaft size. It must be 26mm.
Metric sized prop shaft diameters are standardized to 25 mm in steps of 5 mm to 50 mm, then it goes in steps of 10 mm and so on. 26 mm is NOT a standardized metric diameter.
25 mm shaft is not the same as 1".
As mentioned above, the taper differs on inch and on metric sized shafts. The prop must fit exactly on the shaft and taper.
Some installations use a non-standard taper.
As you do need to have exact measurements of diameter and taper, it is recommended that you first remove the old prop and measure it.
Secondly, many props are far from optimal. When you anyhow have to swap why not see to that you get an optimal prop? There are many prop calculators on internet, google and you will find.
I'm surprised I missed the error. Your shaft is 25mm.
Ebay is slim pickens for props this winter.
I would in your situation suggest the diver remove the prop and put on a
used fixed blade with around 11 inch pitch and a 14inch or less diameter.
The manufacturer of your prop could replace and rebuilt the prop.
Try to find the same used, or similar without being rushed.
The DuFour association website should yield more help.
Well, I am not so surprised; we have been here before.
The shaft diam is not really known to any of us, except maybe the OP. He has to measure with sufficient accuracy. Shaft dia can often be measured in-board, with a calliper. Easy.

Rule-of-thumb says 1" in prop dia corresponds to 3" in pitch ... going for a 13" dia prop (if then one you now have is 14") will require an increase in pitch to 14" which very likely will result in a pronounced prop walk.
Instead of going for some home baked advises at a forum I propose you contact a prop retailer, they usually have competence and know-how. Alternatively, google prop calcultions and make up your own decision.
Fixed blades are for motorboats or motorsailors.
