Aries Self steering wind vane

I am considering fitting a stelf steering wind vane onto a Contessa 32. I am favouring toward the Aries as opposed to the Monitor. Does anyone have experience of the Aries wind vane?

Big mistake, The Monitor is a much better
wind vane. I sailed over 30,000 miles with one there the best, period!!

Check out the cape horn, about $1000
less than the monitor. I have davits on
my boat which I did not want to remove ,
other wise I would have gotten a monitor.
I will be installing my cape horn in the next couple of days I will let you know how
it performs. thomas

Ed, I have just visited the Monitor Windvane - Scanmar International web site which is very comprehensive and I see what you mean. Cheers Vince

I too have chosen to invest in the cape horn (middle of next year) and would be very interested in how it went for you. What kind of boat do you have? Is it tiller or wheel/
Take care

I have a chris craft capri 30, tiller steering.
Boat is on the hard right now, I will be installing it very soon. I am very happy with the purchase, the Cape Horn people are very helpful. I have since talked to other users who say it performs flawlessy. I am very anxious to find out how it works on my boat, so..........
