Re: Bow camera mount with monitor in cabin.

Well considering boats (especially power) can come from any direction not sure how secure I would feel. I doubt it would meet the requirements of keeping watch. I think it is best to keep trips below when single handing anyplace you think there may be traffic or land to very short trips. I think anything that may make you think it is ok to be below longer, will just be false comfort.

Re: Bow camera mount with monitor in cabin.

A Go Pro 2, 3 or 4 would do the job quite well, because they come with an ultra-wide angle lens that covers a lot of territory. Those particular models have an output you can use with most any monitor or TV set with video inputs.

All the best,

Gary

After you'v paid for the flight home and the freight on what you salvaged after the collision ,crew looks cheap.

Bow is okay, but I want a multi-camera setup, so don't forget the GoPro mounted at the top of the mast. Gimballed and rotating, of course.

Re: Bow camera mount with monitor in cabin.

So a welcomed new industry in India. Rows of hired watch keepers gazing at screens connected to alarms on badly skippered sailing boats in Florida. Next ,teach rule of road, etc and connect the auto pilot to India .Probably safer than depending on your own judgment if you can't see the folly while below
